"What if all the children were dancing all the time? What if the playground was a stage for intertwined dances?"
In the playground, a microcosm that is both opaque and familiar, the children organise themselves, invent, fight or withdraw. The space is teeming with actions, sounds and sensations.
By immersing themselves in this space, Caroline Cornélis and her performers question the material that nestles there.
Spontaneously, many components of the playground appear as precious choreographic fuel: games, relationships, asymmetries, relative anarchy, issues of power and domination, the animality that sometimes awakens in children, in the interactions that recess allows - or imposes.
In "10:10", the choreographer draws on this concrete and familiar reality to lead the spectator into a poetic and sensory experience. This experience extends and transforms the imagination.
